SEMS Lab, a leader in serious learning games, has started a strategic partnership with the Jakarta Provincial Government’s Productivity Development Center (P3D)—a unit under the Office of Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy. Together, we are co-developing a series of board-based serious simulation games (SSGs) based on gamification principles to improve learning and productivity.
This partnership was officially announced during the Jakarta Productivity Forum 2025, held in early January. At the forum, SEMS Lab presented its unique approach to gamification, featuring a carefully selected portfolio of SSGs and showcasing several internally-developed board games.
One of the main projects is a simulation focused on becoming the operational manager of a modern market owned by the Jakarta Provincial Government. Designed to mimic real-world situations, this game allows users to experience complex decision-making within public-sector systems.
At SEMS Lab, we believe that understanding complex systems takes more than just traditional lectures—it requires immersive and contextual learning. That’s why our SSGs include consequences and scenario-based interactions to show how different contexts influence system understanding and performance. grounded in gamification principles to enhance learning and productivity.
