On Thursday, May 8, 2025, SEMS UI organized an insightful company visit to Shopee for its laboratory assistants from the 2022 and 2023 batches, offering a valuable opportunity for professional development and real-world exposure.
Held at Gama Tower, the visit was thoughtfully designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and industry practice. Participants gained firsthand insights into how complex systems, strategic thinking, and data-driven decision-making are applied in a dynamic corporate environment.
A highlight of the visit was the coaching clinic titled “How to Ace Your Case Interview”, led by Raka Divananda from Shopee’s Business Development Team. This interactive session equipped students with practical tools and frameworks for approaching case interviews—an essential skill for future career pursuits. The clinic was followed by a Q&A session, where SEMS lab assistants engaged in thoughtful discussions about professional roles, corporate strategy, and Shopee’s operational landscape.
The visit concluded with an office tour, offering participants a behind-the-scenes look at Shopee’s workplace culture and infrastructure. This immersive experience aligns with SEMS UI’s mission to foster hands-on learning and prepare students to navigate complex systems in both academic and professional contexts.
