SEMS Lab, a leader in the field of serious learning games, is collaborating with the Jakarta Provincial Government’s Productivity Development Center (P3D), a unit under the Jakarta Provincial Government Office of Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy. Together, we are developing several serious learning games based on gamification principles. This collaboration was formalized during the Jakarta Productivity Forum 2025 in early January 2025. At the forum, we also presented the SEMS Approach to Gamification using serious simulation games (SSG) and showed some of the board games SSG that we have used and developed. The collaboration will create board-based serious simulation games that focus on improving productivity, with one unique case study on becoming an operational manager of a modern market owned by the Provincial Government. We always believe complex systems learning should not be taught in just a traditional lecturing way but also integrate aspects of ramifications, especially in Serious Simulation Games (SSG). This is primarily because different contextual understandings will heavily influence learning complex systems.
